The week begins…

Posted: 29 April 2008

And so it has begun, the first day of Fashion Week. The first show off the bat was Kirrily Johnston. A beautiful selection of neutral Grecian dresses had us all planning our new summer wardrobe, and a glimpse of Miranda Kerr in the front row was an added bonus (unfortunately, Orlando was no where in sight). The day continued on with Nicola Finetti, Lee Mathews, Anna Thomas, Wayne Cooper and Trimapee all showcasing new designs for summer, through beautiful arrays of colour including white, black, pink, lime, lemon and blue. A notable new inclusion to this year’s Fashion Week is the Havaianas ‘design your own’ booth where you can mix and match your own pair of Havaianas. This had me in a frenzy, I can tell you. Nothing could have made me happier after a day of walking around in heels than a comfy pair of thongs to get me home. As the end of the day slowly approached, the Ruth Tarvydas show started. Not only did we see a beautiful collection of evening gowns but a star-filled front row. We had Lara Bingle, Jason Dundas, Tiffany Wood and the biggest stars of all the Kardashians. Kim and Chloe Kardashian (for those who don’t know, they have their own reality TV show on MTV) were front row causing havoc with every photographer wanting a photo of the beauties. I must say, being a little celebrity crazed, I was very excited to have them sitting directly opposite me.

So after a long day of shows and excitement I head home exhausted but ready to do it all again tomorrow.
