What are you wearing and where is it from?
I’m wearing a Ksubi dress paired with Dr. Martens.
What's your favourite local store and why?
My favourite local store would have to be Zimmermann. I love all the colours, textures and prints that the store offers. I always seem to find something beautiful in stock no matter what season it is.
What do you love about fashion?
I love everything about fashion, it has no boundaries. Fashion is fun, and I love the risk involved. I really enjoy the creative side behind it all and being able to mix and match outfits as if they have never been worn. New trends come in all the time and I never seem to get bored of it.
What trends are you coveting at right now?
Well, it’s spring now so I love bright colours – the brighter the better. I am obsessed with the new coloured J Brand jeans, they are a must have. I have also been shopping around lately and red dresses have really caught my eye – I think they make a bold and sophisticated statement. I’m hoping soon to purchase one soon.
What was the highlight of your week at SHOP?
I loved working in the fashion cupboard of
SHOP, it felt as if something out of
The September Issue. Being surrounded by all these exquisite garments was such an amazing experience. I also found it interesting being able to watch the clothing being styled and getting to see the newest clothes on the market. To be honest, I really enjoyed everything I did this week, it made me love fashion more and opened my eyes of what it’s really like to work in
SHOP.
What surprised you most about life at a glossy magazine?
Before I started work experience I expected that lots of time and effort was being put into one issue. But when I started helping around the office area it really made me more aware how much time really does go into perfecting that one photo or even putting together that outfit.
What did you learn in your week at SHOP?
One out of the many important things I learned was the more experiences the better. All the girls at
SHOP explained to me how work experience was exactly how they started up and it was only the beginning. They told me if I really want to be in the industry I would need to do lots of work experience and internships whilst at school and university.
