It’s not just sun and surf that holds serious appeal for the Goldie – now it’s a bona fide fashion and foodie mecca.

Where to shop:
DESIGNER FORUM
Shop 4077, Robina Town Centre, Robina Town Centre Dr, (07) 5580 9524.
Your ultimate go-to for designer goods on the Coast. With its modern white interior and plenty of natural light, this luxurious space is as beautiful as the clothes – Ellery, Lover and Watson x Watson among them.

THE VILLAGE MARKETS
Burleigh Heads State School Oval, Lower Gold Coast Hwy, Burleigh Heads.
Held on the first and third weekends of every month, it’s a melting pot of up-and-coming designers, artists and other local talent. Among the 60 stalls you’ll find fledgling labels, handcrafted jewellery and home buys, and for the foodies, gourmet bites galore.

LEDEUX BOUTIQUE
Shop 21C, James St, Burleigh Heads, 0432 397 032.
Envy-inducing owners, Emma and Jody, have curated a space that’s more like your cool best friend’s wardrobe than a retail joint. There’s an awesome selection of threads by Friend of Mine, One Teaspoon and May, all the jewellery a girl could want from Katzi and Kornerd, plus shoes from Soles and Senso.

WORTHALOOK
Shop 7, 1 Naranga Ave, Broadbeach Waters, worthalook.com.au.
This store feels so much like those adorable gift shops you find in quaint country towns, you’ll forget it’s just around the corner from the main tourist drag. If you’re on the hunt for a truly special present or just a one-off piece for your home, the handcrafted jewellery, cards, prints and vintage furniture really are just that.

Where to eat:
BAZAAR
Situated in the QT Gold Coast hotel, Bazaar is a culinary experience not to be missed – whether you’ve booked a room or you’re just popping in for dinner. Inspired by the set-up of traditional marketplaces, you’ll be greeted by woodfired pizza ovens, hanging cured meats and an open-plan kitchen – so you get to see exactly what’s on the (Mediterranean-fusion) menu before you order.

Where to stay:
QT GOLD COAST
7 Staghorn Ave, Surfers Paradise, qtgoldcoast.com.au.
Looking for something different from cold and modern skyscrapers? The rooms (below) at the QT Gold Coast hotel are bright, breezy and retro-inspired – the ultimate seachange.
