New 'dos at ANTM

Tresemmé head stylist, Joh Bailey, is Sydney’s hair whisperer. Well, not officially, but after watching this week’s episode of
Australia’s Next Top Model, I’ve decided to christen him just that. With the help of an army of stylists and a ton of product, he managed to take a group of less-than-polished girls and transform them into real model material and for that, I think he’s worth his weight in straightening serum.
As for the standouts, Kimberly got my vote for “The most drastic change” and not just because it was… drastic. Yes, she needed that short, red crop like I need a holiday, but the real hook for me was the way she took the criticism and change all in her stride. Now, she’s urban-sophisticated, with an Edie Sedgwick-twist. Go Kimberly.
I’m also digging Kathryn’s subtle colour change. Her new honey-red highlights look just swell and do amazing things for her complexion.
But the big makeover gong goes to Kelsey and not because I have a girl crush on her. Or because I am obsessed with her skin. And besotted with her style. It’s because her new look is incredibly practical. Even if you can’t afford a gazillion hair extensions, her hairstyle has just the right amount of edginess, all thanks to the heavy fringe. And the blunt layers aren’t too bad, either. The other benefit is that it’s dead easy to maintain.
During the day, I’ll be getting the same mussy texture Joh managed to create with a little help from Tresemmé 24 Hour Body Amplifying Mousse, $7.95,1800 623 540. Then in the evening, I plan to take it up a notch with the help of a hot tong for slightly tousled, little bit dishevelled, I’m-with-the-band, slept-in waves, just like Kelsey’s. Rock on.
