Madonna the material girl
Posted: 03 June 2008
During a chat with US Life & Style magazine today, Madonna revealed (gasp!) that not only is she addicted to Oxygen facials (she has a machine at home) but she’s actually considering plastic surgery.
And are we surprised? Not at all. Whether it’s facial yoga, herbal tea, botox, leeches or those strange concoctions (bat guano anyone?), celebs will try absolutely anything to keep themselves looking young.

Here are some of our favourite crazy celeb beauty crazes: Catherine Zeta-Jones swears by strawberries as a natural teeth whitener (just watch out for those seeds!)
Cindy Crawford keeps her skin super-moist by spritzing it throughout the day with a mixture of milk and water.
Teri Hatcher likes to add left-over red wine to her bath, working on the same principle that drinking red wine is good for you because of all the anti oxidants. We guess this is just a more direct way of getting those benefits to your skin!
Debra Messing apparently splurges on a face cream containing snake venom, which according to the experts works by slowing the muscles response around the eye area.
Sandra Bullock claims she learned this secret on the set of Miss Congeniality 2: she uses haemorrhoid cream under her eyes to reduce puffiness and wrinkles.
Want to see which of these crazy cures have worked? Check out our gallery of gracefully (or not) ageing celebs here.
