The owner of Paddington store Sarah – Vintage Jewellery and Accessories, Sarah Green, shows us around her ‘60s-inspired pad.
"I adore the frames in the living area, which display old magazine covers. My dad collected magazines from the ’60s and ’70s, so I really appreciate them. There’s a strong ’60s feel about my choice of furnishings and use of colour, so I try to stick with vintage buys to keep it authentic," says Sarah, "The pink sarsaparilla bottle is my favourite collectable. I found it at a market; it reminds me of my childhood and the things I grew up with. The sitting room is my favourite space in the house because it’s where I hang out with my children in the evenings."
Ideas to steal1. Jewellery: it’s as good as art. Ditch the jewellery box and leave your favourite pieces on display to pretty up a space and for guests to admire.
2. Choose your most cherished collectables and use them as inspiration when decorating your home. That way, each room will have its own personality and distinct style.
3. Fresh flowers make everything look fabulous. Place a bunch at the entrance of your home and in bud vases in the bathroom – they’re a great distraction for guests.
