I heart Zoe
Posted: 04 December 2008
There. I said it. I love her. And I know I’m not the only one watching The Rachel Zoe Project either because I’ve overheard at least three conversations about it in the lift of my building. And when people are talking in lifts… well, you know it’s big time. I have always appreciated that Zoe has talent. After all, she’s the girl who had us all wanting to get around looking slightly too much like a hobo (I’m serious when I tell you, “Oh my god, you look totally homeless” is a phrase I’ve heard uttered - and intended as a compliment), so she must have serious styling skills. But since I started watching the show, that appreciation has taken on a whole new level. The episodes from Bryant Park at NY Fashion Week have got to be the best. She packs 40 pairs of shoes for an eight day event, although she knows she’ll only end up wearing ten of them! Sigh. Girl. After. My. Own. Heart. And I love that she spends at least half of every episode covered in a cosy white bathrobe. I mean, she has the wardrobe of all our dreams put together, yet she spends so many hours dressed in nada. Brilliant. A pal of mine was watching the recent episode with her boy when he turned to her and said, “Babe, how come you don’t have your dresses in plastic?” She said, “Because mine are from Sportsgirl.” Even if half of my wardrobe is from Supré, I think I’d like to get some of those lovely plastic zip bags. They would make dressing in the morning so much more of an event. What I most like about Rach (I now call her Rach. Seeing as I know how she takes her Starbucks and all, I figure she wouldn’t mind) is that she’s really the modern poster child for not-so-classic beauties looking as foxy as hell. Know what I mean? She shows you can work with what you’ve got and even if you may not be handed a cosmetics contract any time soon, that can still be crazy-beautiful. Well, that, plus she has great hair.
