There really is no better way to spend a weekday afternoon than sipping Tattinger bubbly, nibbling on scones and watching some of the hottest designers around showcase new-season wares. And no, I’m not waxing all sentimental about last month’s Fashion Week, but rather the Pret-a-Portea event that Sydney’s Park Hyatt is holding each month until November for all the ladies who lunch… or at least dream they do.

And even better than the heavenly chocolate mousse cake or prawn canapés which cover your table – or even the plentiful goodie bag handed out on departure – was gazing at the stunning backdrop of the Sydney Opera House in the knowledge that everyone else is slaving away at work… it’s just a pity it’s not on every week!
