High risk footwear

Finally, some recognition that wearing sky-high heels is hard work. Well for the London ladies anyway. Today’s newspapers report that British police will be distributing free thongs outside popular night spots as part of a $70,000 publicity funded scheme to prevent “alcohol related harm caused by women wearing high heels”.
I actually laughed out loud when I read this, but then I looked down at the shoes my feet were strapped in and realised as much as I love them – they do have the potential to inflict a lot of harm. Especially after a few too many Christmas cocktails. Maybe the new-season shoes that have seen heel height reach back-breaking levels should come with a warning label. High risk footwear…not to be operated under the influence of alcohol.
