The New Guard is fast becoming an institution among Adelaide’s style-set. But with the launch of its e-boutique three years ago, The New Guard is now the premier destination for designer clothing online.
We sat down with co-owner Erin Shepard to find out her picks of the season.
How would you describe your personal style?
I’m not complicated when it comes to dressing. I love tailoring, so I’m a big fan of Alexander Wang and Dion Lee. Fine knits and shirting are always a staple, plus a great pair of Acne jeans.
What’s the last thing you purchased?
A shiny, flesh-coloured cream eye shadow by Terry Ombre. It stays put all day long, and I can rely on it when I need something quick but pretty.
What’s your go-to outfit if you want to impress?
I’m a real jeans girl, but if I want to impress I’ll throw on my leather pants and a shirt.
What’s your signature scent?
My signature scent is Escentric 01 by Escentric Molocules – they call it “the modern day love potion’”. It’s unisex, so my husband often wears it too!
What’s your go-to beauty look?
Pretty, natural and no-fuss – glowing skin, a slick of mascara and a bit of gloss.
Who do you see as your customer?
The TNG customer has a nonchalant, chic attitude to dressing. She is effortless.
What’s been a top-selling item for you recently?
The Isabel Marant Bekett basketball boots.
What do you see as the strongest trends for the spring/summer season?
Prints. I love Dion Lee’s Aluminium Tears print and Isabel Marant Étoile print drawstring pants. Oh, and high-top sneakers. Our range of Isabel Marant and MM6 high tops will keep our customers comfortable and on trend!
