Whether you favour dainty diamantes or chunky, raw crystals, online jewellery hotspot
Alegorie has the goods. The brainchild of Melbourne based designer and
blogger Alicia Hannah Naomi, head to Alegorie to fill your cart with pieces from brands like Damselfly, Deadly Ponies, Estelle Dévé and Alicia’s own label, Drown.
We caught up with Alicia to find out her picks of the season.
How would you describe your personal style?
I’ve always leaned towards deconstructed, industrial style. I love the traditional Japanese wabi-sabi and shibui aesthetics of asymmetry, minimalism and organic imperfection, and try to work that premise into my wardrobe with a subtle femininity and lots of black.
What’s the last thing you purchased?
I just picked up a Diorshow Blackout mascara.
What’s your go-to outfit if you want to impress?
A gorgeous draped silk dress, cropped leather jacket and sharp heels. All black, of course.
What’s your signature scent?
Escentric 01 by Escentric Molecules.
What’s your go-to beauty look?
Lashings of black mascara and a bright lip!
What’s your favourite holiday spot?
Who has time for a holiday?
Who do you see as your customer?
Our customers have strong aesthetic visions for their style and love to exemplify their personalities through the way they dress. They expect unique accessories that speak of their style. They don’t settle for run-of-the-mill and seek out special pieces that are true treasures.
What do you look for when you’re on a buying trip or looking at new labels?
Just like our customers, the collections we carry have a story to tell. We love young, independent designers that are conceptual with unique visions for their labels and excellent craftsmanship.
What’s been a top-selling item for you recently?
All of the gorgeous raw crystal pieces that have just hit the store from Melbourne label Damselfly are flying out the door.
What do you see as the strongest trends for the spring/summer season?
Our obsession with chunky raw crystals is not going anywhere this season, but soon we’ll be embracing more dainty pieces – very delicate chain necklaces and thin, little rings.
What’s your must-have item that’s currently in stock? The amazing
Damselfly Kingdom Come bracelet.
