NSW: Fifty Four Park St Health Club and Day Spa
170 Castlereagh St, Sydney, fiftyfourparkst.com.
Melisa Giraldo is the beauty therapist every A-lister calls on when they hit Sydney – for good reason. She can transform skin with a speedy peel and spot of Omnilux Light Therapy ($120 for 30 minutes), and her famous facial massage will send you off to sleep in seconds.

The Facial Room by Jocelyn Petroni
72 Queen St, Woollahra, jocelynpetroni.com.
This salon is exactly what it says – a cosy room that feels more like a home than a spa. With a slew of VIP clients (Miranda Kerr pops in for manis and pedis whenever she’s in town), beauty therapist Petroni is as close to a skin whisperer as it gets.

VIC: Paramedical Skin Clinic
Shop 12, The Como Centre, 299 Toorak Rd, South Yarra, (03) 9827 1255.
With a client list that includes Dannii Minogue and Brian McFadden, it’s no wonder appointments fill up fast. Book a slot for one of the clinic’s most popular facials, the all-natural Jet Peel Treatment ($395 for 45 minutes). It’s a celebrity favourite too.

SA: Contours By Diamond
262 Melbourne St, North Adelaide, contoursby diamond.com.au.
As well as intense facials – like microdermabrasion complete with lymphatic drainage and collagen infusion – there are tons of other services. Ask for owner Cathy Saccoccio, who can personalise the treatment to suit you.

WA: Mt Pleasant Beauty Therapy
2/87 Glenelg St, Mount Pleasant, (08) 9316 9936.
These guys offer the works – from massage to electrolysis – but are best known for their Glominerals treatments, like the GloTherapeutics Prescription Facial ($88 for one hour). It’s a peel (to remove surface- clogging stuff) combined with a hydrating mask.

QLD: Alpha-H Noosa
4/1 Lanyana Wy, Noosa Heads, (07) 5447 5112.
This sleek concept salon is run by Taryn Doherty, the daughter of Alpha-H creator, Michelle Doherty. Expect bespoke facials that cater to specific skin needs. The best part is, Taryn uses pro-strength formulations of the Alpha-H range, then recommends an at-home maintenance pack for you to keep up the good work.

ACT: Fab Face & Body
Shop 5, Kingston Plaza, Giles St, Kingston,
(02) 6239 6493.
From traditional cleanse- and-exfoliate facials to intensive anti-ageing treatments, you’ll find a comprehensive menu. Skin therapist Margot Ridley is a Gatineau guru, and mature skin expert to boot.

NT: Elements by the Sea
7 Kitchener Dr, Darwin Waterfront, elements darwin.com.au.
Hot and bothered? Book some me-time at this deliciously air-conditioned spa. For a further cool-down, try the Froid Treatment ($155 for 90 minutes). The cold mask drenches skin with powerful moisture and peps up dull skin tones too.

TAS: Hobart Skintech
Upper Level, 57 Collins St, Hobart, hobartskintech.com.au.
The wide variety of facials on offer means you’ll find something to suit, no matter what freak-out your skin is having. The Skintech Signature ($110 for one hour 20 minutes) includes an enzyme exfoliation, ceramide massage, hydration mask, and a soothing hand and foot massage. You will feel amazing afterwards.
