In September, three of our favourite bloggers attended 30 Days of Fashion and Beauty as guests of Commonwealth Bank. We caught up with them after the shows to get their insights into blogging, celeb spotting and the looks they’re saving up for this season.

Marlo Perry, A Fatal Attraction to Cuteness

How did you get into fashion blogging?
I was always being asked for fashion and beauty advice by my friends and my Twitter followers and they suggested I should start a blog to compile all my advice. I started out just writing about things that I thought were "cute" along with some of my own outfits and it has evolved from there. Unlike a lot of bloggers, I don't have a background in journalism or a degree in communications, just a passion for fashion.

What’s the most exciting thing that’s happened because of your blog?
I have had a lot of feedback in terms of my readers telling me they purchased a certain pair of shoes, tried a new makeup product or dined at a restaurant simply because I recommended it. It's exciting to know that what you're offering to people is actually being absorbed and, in some way, you're influencing them and hopefully making their lives easier or at least more fun!

Which trends did you spot during 30 Days of Fashion and Beauty
Three trends that stood out to me were: upmarket fluoro a la Alex Perry and the lime green evening gown in his S/S11 collection, denim overalls just like the ones Alexa Chung made us go crazy for when she was in Sydney and super bright nails in primary colours as seen at the Revlon Top Speed show.

What’s on your shopping wish list right now?
I’ve got my eye on a Louis Vuitton Totally GM tote in Damier Azur canvas as it’s perfect for uni, work and travelling.

What are your money tips to fast-track your saving?
My tips include: don't impulse buy. That $15 skirt you think will be good for work probably won't be. Resist buying loads of little things and you will have the latest Chloe bag before you know it!

Also, don’t forget the power of layby. We can't all drop $1000 on a pair of Louboutins every payday. Luckily stores like Myer and David Jones stock all the brands we love and have fair layby terms in place meaning you don't have to pine away for that lust-have and you'll love it even more once it's in your hot little hands.

Finally, make your money work for you. Try something like the Commonwealth Bank Student Credit Card that offers no annual fee while you're still studying and lets you keep tabs on all your spending.
