Denim printed tights, anyone?

Things that make me go ewww... I was out the other day and saw a lady in these unusually tight jeans, or so I thought with my poor eyesight, but on closer inspection they were actually denim print tights. Yes, they exist!?

I’m not exactly sure what it is about them that bothers me, but it may be the fact that they’re not really jeans. I heard through the grapevine they’re also making a short version too. Think tights/shorts/denim print.

Fair enough if you don’t want to wear jeans because they’re too tight, but aren’t tights even tighter? Instead of wearing fraudulent denim why not wear the genuine, what’s so bad about a good ol’ pair of Levis? This brings me back to when those hideouso rubber thong heels were in full force one summer. And I couldn’t understand the concept then either. If you’re going to wear thongs why not wear flat Havaianas or just go all out and wear high heels? I’m pretty much the same way with leather and pleather: pleather might be kinder to the wallet, but it doesn’t smell as pleasing and doesn’t feel as buttery soft with age. Why bother?

Impostor jeans or authentic denim? You decide, but I know what I’ll be wearing.

  • This was a really insightful article and I have seen these denim tights all around Adelaide, however, I feel that this article contradicts the moral message of your magazine, highlighting that you can only ever buy the real thing, if you want to be accepted and approved by todays society of fashionistas which is neither kind to the average girls wallet or salary Report

  • I m also thought this is insightful,like i have saw http://www.minikeen.com/,sound great! Report

  • I agree that printed tights are so not cool, and in this case the 'real thing' (ie jeans) are far more fashionable. But when it comes to the pleather/leather debate - it's not about being fashionable, it's about what you can afford. This blog sums it up http://www.bargainshopper.com.au/_blog/Bargain_Shopper_Blog/post/Handbag_shopping_PVC_or_Leather/ I would prefer leather, but the prices are not realistic. Report
