The lowdown on brows

Bold brows were seen on all the catwalks this season, from Zac Posen to Rodarte to Thakoon. Australia’s own eyebrow guru, Sharon-Lee tells us how to achieve brows that wow.
What face shape best suits these brows? Big brows are in and they are bolder in colour too. Unlike past summers, this year we’re seeing darker brows regardless of your hair colour. We’ll be seeing a lot more blondes with strong dark brows rather than bleaching them to soften their look.
How can we achieve the perfect shape? Definitely see a pro. Grow out whatever hair you can before your appointment so there is as much to work with as possible. Be clear on what look you’re hoping for. Bring along some cut-outs of your dream brows if you have one handy. Pictures are a great tool to ensure you’re both on the same page.
Fact or fiction – can we wax above the brow? Absolutely! It’s often
not removing hair from above the brow line that creates a rounder (and more unattractive) brow.
How long should we wait in between appointments? This is totally dependant on your growth and how well you maintain them at home. Generally speaking? Get yourself to your brow specialist around the six week mark.
What tools do you need to get the best brows? Basic tools such as slanted tweezers, a good magnifying mirror (to ensure you’re only plucking the new growth) and coloured brow gel. Pencil looks like pencil and powder just doesn’t have the staying power.
