Chanel thinks tatts’ it

Talk about branding yourself… literally. Luxury beauty brand Chanel already has a waiting list for its highly anticipated range of temporary tattoos. Created by make-up guru Peter Phillips and seen on the catwalks at the Chanel spring/summer ready-to-wear, the Trompe L'œil de Chanel contains 55 different body transfers – from dripping jewelled interlocking C’s to delicate daisy chains that run down the legs and arms.
“For the show I wanted to play with the Chanel symbols, the pearls, the chains, wheat, as well as blossoms and small swallows who usually announce the arrival of spring. I placed the tattoos on different parts of the body, in an elegant yet sensual manner, chic and sexy: on the décolleté, the wrists and thighs like a garter,” said Peter Phillips, global creative director for Chanel cosmetics.
At $90 a pop for the 55 transfers, it’s a budget alternative to that Chanel necklace you’ve been eyeing off. The tattoos will be available in the Chanel Make-Up Studio in Myer Sydney and in Chanel boutiques from March 2010. To add your name on the growing waiting list, call 1300 242 635.
