Aussie silver medallist talks beauty secrets

August 01, 2012

We sat down with Aussie silver medallist and Pantene ambassador, Emily Seebohm, to find out her beauty secrets.

How do you keep your hair from drying out in the pool? “Using a great shampoo and conditioner, like Pantene Daily Moisture Renewal [$7.99 each, 1800 028 280], gives my hair what it needs after a swim session.”

What treatments do you use? “My favourite is Pantene Intensive Damage Repair Oil [$9.99, 1800 028 280]. I throw it in my swimming bag so I can use it any time.”

Do you colour your hair? If so, where do you get it done? “I do colour my hair, even though it goes under a cap most of the time! I go to this great place in Brisbane called Boondall Hairdressing.”

How do you prepare your skin before a swim? “I use Cetaphil cleanser – the pool dries out my skin so I need to make sure I keep it hydrated.”

What do you pack in your beauty bag when you’re flying out for competitions? “I have so many different things in there! I like Nars blush and bronzer, Stila’s brow set, Essie nail polishes, Mecca’s To Save Face SPF 30+ tinted foundation, and Napoleon Perdis lip glosses.”

Got any lucky nail polish shades? “I love to do my nails, but I don't have a lucky one as yet. When I go away with the Australian team I paint my nails green and gold!”

What perfume do you wear? “Beyonce's Heat. I just love the smell of it.”

How do you fake a full night’s sleep when you’ve got an early wake-up call? “I have an energy drink and make sure my make-up looks good!”
